Semester 8 Dissertation
Dissertation is intended to enlighten the students on the fundamentals of research methods. The students are encouraged to pick up theoretical or technical issues related to architecture, formulate a focused hypothesis and work at it in order to prove the point in a theoretically correct yet innovative manner. Thus, dissertation is also an exercise in writing. Apart from development of reading and writing skills, and strengthening of research and documentation skills the dissertation for many students has been a rigorous exercise in systematic thinking. An exercise like this increases the reflective and analytical capacity of the professional education that the student receives through the five years.
