Jadavpur University, Calcutta (1992), Gold Medallist. Presently working
towards MIStructE from The Institution of Structural Engineers, United Kingdom.
Architectural
and structural design of residences, factories and nursing homes in Calcutta
and Delhi. Worked as consultant to Government bodies, NGOs and ODA/DFID
(UK) for designing prototype primary schools, health centres, residences
and utility buildings using Cost Effective Construction Technologies in
rural sector across India. The projects include Andhra Pradesh Primary Education
Project, Orissa Health Project, District Primary Education Project (Bihar,
Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra), among others. Worked as structural
consultant to conservation projects like St. Stephen's Church (Delhi) and
Gohar Mahal (Bhopal). Also involved in exhibition and graphic design.
Research
Interest: Technological evolution of monuments of Indo-Islamic period (Delhi
and Agra) and temples (Bhubaneswar, Khajuraho, Bishnupur). Documentation
and analysis of gardens of Delhi (1660-1947) with Centre of Conservation
Studies, De Montfort University, United Kingdom. Worked on model method
of teaching structural engineering at Under Graduate level in Architecture.
Engaged in fundamental research on affordable and sustainable shelter in
various regions in India.
Publications include four articles in national level journals, two in international
journals and two manuals.
